Kind Words from Our Wonderful Patients

I’m a very nervous dental patient and they were gentle calm and professional. They definitely lived up to the great reviews I read and while I don’t exactly look forward to going back (who does??!) I’m glad I’m going back to Dr Ricke and his staff. They are pretty great.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get emergency dental care?

If there is a noticeable crack in your enamel, you’re struggling with a painful toothache, or you knocked out a tooth, don’t wait – call our dental office near North Hills right away. That way, a helpful member of our team can schedule an emergency visit and guide you through how to handle your dental injury in the meantime.

Important reminder: If you are struggling to breathe, you’re bleeding uncontrollably, or you’re experiencing any other potentially life-threatening symptoms, then you should call 911 or head to the ER to get the medical attention you need.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

The road to becoming a dentist usually takes 7+ years. First, they need to earn their undergraduate degree (often with very high grades and in a major that’s heavy in math and science). Then, they must be accepted to an accredited dental school in the US to complete rigorous in-classroom and hands-on training. Even after obtaining their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree, they must complete continuing education hours each year to maintain their license.

Of course, some dentists, like our very own Dr. Matthew Ricke, don’t stop there. Since earning his DDS from the University of Tennessee, he has pursued advanced training with the Spear Institute, McCracken Implant Education, Dawson Academy, and the Inspired Hygiene Program. He has also become a certified Invisalign provider and maintained active memberships with professional organizations, like the American Dental Association!

What do you do if you can't afford a dentist?

Oftentimes, patients who are worried about the cost opt to take the “wait and see” approach. However, doing so allows the root of the problem to progress, wreaking havoc on your oral health in the process. In other words, getting the care you need right away benefits your smile and your wallet.

It’s also important to mention here that we are happy to file claims with your dental insurance provider. So, if you are insured, you can provide us with your membership information when you call to schedule your appointment. Then, we can review your coverage, provide you with an estimate of your out-of-pocket expenses, and answer any questions you have.

How can I schedule a same-day appointment?

Whether you need emergency dental care or you have a last-minute opening in your schedule, the best thing to do if you want to schedule a same-day appointment is to call. That way, a friendly member of our team can learn more about the reason for your visit, take a look at our calendar, and determine the soonest we can see you.

If getting on the phone isn’t convenient, you can also get in touch with us via the contact page. Although the response won’t be as instantaneous, we do our best to get back to our patients quickly.
